PDRM=Police Raja Di Malaysia?

We are glad to hear that Suhakam has finally decided to proceed with the public inquiry on the "Bloody Sunday".

I was one of the 37 witnesses who were interviewed by the Suhakam prior to the public inquiry in October.

I was arrested in the midst of my speech at the "No to fuels and electricity hikes" protest rally on 28 May,2006 outside KLCC.

We are sad to note that letters from the Suhakam to the PDRM were not replied until today. This is utter arrogance on the part of PDRM. No wonder many has started to insinuate the PDRM as "Police Raja Di Malaysia".

According to a Malaysiakini report, Commissioner KC Vohrah disclosed that three letters had been written to Criminal Investigation Department head Aman Fauzi Sahari, on Aug 8 and 21 respectively, and again on September 4 .

“We have not received a written reply,” he told a press conference at the Suhakam headquarters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

He said the inquiry dates have been fixed for Oct 5-6, 11-13 and 16-18, with daily proceedings to be held between 9am and 4.30pm.

Vohrah, who will head the four-member inquiry panel, said only Suhakam would be involved in conducting the inquiry. The other commissioners involved are Choo Siew Kioh, Michael Yeoh and Zaitoon Othman.
