See U at the DAP Forum "The 1988 Judiaciary crisis: To review or not?"tonight!
" It's not su much my personal interest and that of my dismissed colleagues which need to be rectified but more importantly, the democratic institution and the rule of law which have to be restored."
- Sacked Lord President Tun Mohamed Salleh Abbas.
Tun Salleh Abbas has backed the call for the probe into the 1988 judicairy crisis initiated by Yeo Yang Poh, the Bar Coucil President.
Yeo has probably made the call after reading the detailed account of events written by one of the dismissed Supreme Court stalwarts Datuk George Seah.
Former AG Tan Sri Abu Talib was reported as saying that the sackingl was done according to the Constitution and therefore no review should be granted. He must be a worried man now simply because he was one of the main accomplices who played a pivotal role in resulting the sacking of Tun Salleh.
The other main accomplice was Tun Hamid, the former Lord President who took advantage of the crisis.
Without the "expertise and skill" of both Hamid and Abu Talib, Dr Mahathir the culprit would not have such an easy ride in carrying out the sacking.
Who would have thought that our Yang DiPertuan Agong could possibly go to work on May Day.
Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, the Cabinet minister who rejected the call for review outrightly, has taken up the challenge to debate the matter at the DAP forum.
We must acknowledge his courage for doing so. Let's see how he is going to defend the indefensible at the Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall tonight.
Jom kawan-kawan!Datanglah beramai-ramai!
